What is a printed ugly sweater?
A traditional ugly sweater is knitted, with yarn forming the reindeer, snowflakes and zigzags. Ours take a different route: the busy pattern is printed onto a sweater-style top, typically polyester with a soft, fleecy back. That allows sharper detail and more color than knitting can manage, in a garment that's usually lighter than a chunky knit. If the fabric matters to you, look in the product description for any notes on it.
How it's made
Each sweater is produced after checkout. Our production partner uses dye-sublimation, heat-pressing the artwork into the polyester so it covers the front, back and sleeves with nothing raised on the surface. Where two pieces of fabric are stitched together, expect the pattern to break a little.
Will it fit over a shirt?
Most people wear an ugly sweater over a tee or collared shirt, so keep layering in mind when you pick a size. Measure a sweatshirt you like and compare chest and length with the guidance on our Fit & Sizing page.
Planning for the party
Because every sweater is made to order, give yourself some breathing room before the big event; our Shipping & Delivery page explains what to expect. Afterward, wash it inside out on a cold, gentle cycle and hang it to dry so it's ready for next December.
